Hello and welcome to my web page on the physics of Zimbabwean Marimba!

For a brief introduction, allow me to warn you that the physics of Zimbabwean
marimba is not unlike the physics of any typical mallet percussion instrument
such as a glockenspiel or a xylophone. The only real difference is that a typical
Zimbabwean marimba has less notes, the size varies for different tonal ranges, and,
in my opinion and experience, it is a lot more fun than a concert marimba. As an
instrument however, the majority of the physics will be mostly based around the properties
and physics of sound waves and dealing with ideas such as frequency, period, nodes,
anti-nodes, and other similar variables. But please, I do hope you  enjoy this website!
